Hi. Just discovered this webcomic, and it’s intriguing so far. It’s nice to find someone else who’s thought of a fan-work where there’s more focus on OCs. :)
Just one thing… Would you -please- tone down the swears, especially the f-word? As intriguing as this story is, the language actually takes away from it. There are plenty of other ways to show anger and frustration.
If you feel a character absolutely -must- curse in some way… you can be creative. For example, I’ve actually imagined Reploids using ’scrap’ as a type of explicitive. (‘Holy scrap! Look at the size of that thing!’) But yeah, it’s not like one needs to spout off the worst word they can think of whenever they’re annoyed.
I’ve actually found this chapter, ‘Hunter,’ the most enjoyable so far, and not just because of the hide-and-seek. I don’t mean any offense, I just think the comic would be better off if it was more like this overall. You might even bring in more readers if it was more like this. :)

If you don’t like the F-word, then go hit Kenny, the writer, hehe. His stories involves his own character alot, a character that curses…alot. But I see what you mean.
I’m glad you like Hunter. I’m quite fond of it myself since it’s just not ONLY action. I’ve been wanting to draw something less action and more drama/humour for some time now so hopefully the next chapter will be something more like that.

Oh, sod trying to write any long explanation of this.
I really don’t see fuck as that terrible of a word, which probably has something to do with being Swedish. I hate censorship, so I’m not going to make people not swear only for the sake of not swearing, but I don’t really have people swear only for the sake of swearing either. Some people have a cruder language than others, and that’s not going to change. 666 in particular is the kind of character who smokes, kills people and swears a bunch in the process. Somehow I doubt “fuck” is anywhere near the worst word he can think of. It’s hardly even the worst word I can think of – I treat a lot of expletives fairly equally, and the way I use them they can often be interchangeable.
If this explanation made no sense to you, don’t worry. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me either.

This is a matter that’s been discussed in eternity since the first curse came to be. It really boils down to what people are used to. Regularly people think curses destroy the language, which it sort of does. It simplifies it. If someone says ‘This hotdog is awesome!’ Abusing the word in such a way makes it easy to understand that the person likes it, while the original intent differs quite a lot from the use.
Personally, I can understand the people wanting to stop curses, since it offends them and, as stated, destroys the overall language. However, when I went to see Die Hard 4 I was disappointed with the removal of curses cigarettes and blood. That’s what I expected to see. If I watch a film for children and get that treatment I would be offended. It’s about target audience. We have several writers for these stories, with different ideas and wishes and we all aim for different stories.
If a particular storyline disappoint you, the next one might be very different and much more suiting to your expectations and taste.
One thing I want to point out, however, is that some more innovative solutions to cursing like ‘Frack’ from Starship Galactica is a lot worse in many situations. Because when a scene filled with angst, people on the verge of breaking down and they say a curse that really isn’t any curse it just humiliate them. It simply depends on the tone of the story and the wants of it’s teller.
I’m happy to say that I’m trying to avoid straight forward action in the latest texts I’m working on, though ^^ Which in a way is hard with such an action-esque base storyline that we have.

I have been intending to try to write not so much straight action and not focus entirely on 666 so much. No, seriously, I promise. Making Shiva’s presence not so dependant on him was part of the latter, actually. And, hell, it made me try my hand at writing romance. Which I can’t do. But that’s another story.
Then there’s that mindfuck text. No action, but 666 is a main character for no reason.
And Symphony kinda deals more with the parts that come before and after the action. You know, that story I’m working on. No, seriously, I promise.
